Raz began his career at 19 as an engineer at IBM, where he spent six years managing major Northeast accounts including Goldman Sachs, Mitsubishi International Trading, and AXA Equitable. That grounding in enterprise technology, combined with an entrepreneurial drive shaped by his family, led him to start his own company in 2002.
Working from his mother's home in Woodside, New York, Raz founded USAWeb, which grew over time into Office Interactive — an award-winning software development firm. Building and running that company for over a decade gave him a close understanding of how businesses use technology, and where it consistently fell short.
In 2016, Raz co-founded Sam.ai with the intent to humanize the software experience — to make a platform that felt conversational, intelligent, and genuinely useful for entrepreneurs and organizations working to grow. In 2019, alongside the engineering team, he introduced Generative Business Intelligence and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to the platform, among the earliest production deployments of that technology in B2B software.
Outside of work, Raz is a proud father, a committed athlete, and a student of ancient yogic philosophy. He has also made environmental responsibility central to Sam.ai's mission, with the company on track to become carbon neutral by 2025.
